Melanie Fairlight Clifton grew up loving horses, but due to financial sitations at home, never got to realize her dreams until she was personally able to make it happen. She began working at 15 and by the time she entered college, she was paying to go trail riding locally. She ended up buying some horses and doing self care at local stables, but trail riding her Paint and Thoroughbred were becoming...boring. An avid sailor and very active person, she began looking for a sport or other venue to enjoy with her horses. While researching jumping and 3-day eventing, she found endurance. On the trails, but fast! racing! and for 25, 50, 100 miles? Great! She began looking for a horse that would take her to the top, and started learning about the Arabian breed. During the search, she fell in love with Arabians. She sold her other horses and bought a cute little half-Arab Paint amazed her with his intelligence and care for children, Sam. She looked for over 3 months for an Endurance horse, and returned 3 horses before she found the right one, Brassair. Since then, she's acquired others, each specially selected for their breeding, conformation and movement.
